What is Middle East Window?

Middle East Window is a online Christian news magazine that explores the peoples, politics and faith traditions of the Middle East. New articles are posted daily. We feature regular commentators offering a Christian view of recent developments in the region, including Sami Awad, Daoud Kuttab, Don Wagner, Maria Khoury and James Wall, among others. We are also committed to highlighting the voices of Middle Eastern Muslims, Jews and both U.S. and Middle Eastern peacemakers.

Great question. Here's how to get started.

1) Create an Account

The first step is to create an account.

You will receive an e-mail confirmation. Once you have followed the instructions in that e-mail, your account will be active.

2) Add a Photo

Once you create an account and sign in, you should see a new block on the top, far right side of your Middle East Window page with your username on it:

If you click on "My account" or go to http://www.middleeastwindow.com/user when you are signed in, you should see your profile information. To edit this information, click on "edit" in your profile page.

If you scroll down a bit you'll see a place to upload your photo:

This photo will be included with any comments you leave on the site.

3) Select your Favorite News Sources

A little bit lower on the edit your profile page you will see a list like this:

Click on any of the boxes to add a newsfeed to your site. This way, you can customize your Middle East Window page based on your favorite news sources.

4) Comments: Get a Discussion started!

On every article throughout the Middle East Window website, you can leave your own thoughts and reactions. Attached to every article you should see a link for comments like this:

Comments not relevant to the articles they are associated with (spam) or comments that use foul language or racial slurs will be immediately deleted. Otherwise, you are free to share your thoughts and ideas with our readers.
