Refugee Camp Care Package

I walk down "The Ave" in the University District where I live, suddenly noticing the weight of the burden I carry. The heaviness is not physical, indeed the video camera itself is quite light and miniaturized, as is the tape I want to play in it. What's more I am not actually carrying it, I am just meeting up with people to watch it. The weight is from a sudden sense of responsibility, a recognition of how deeply the cause I am involved in effects people's lives.

I am Jewish, and an activist for Palestinian freedom. These two seemingly contradictory identities have actually given me a splendid wholeness that I had never experienced before becoming involved. It has done wonders for my Jewish continuity. I have met many Jews through this work, including my fianc
