Tuesday Video File: Iraqi Refugee Stories

Since the 2001 U.S. invasion of Iraq, over 4 million Iraqis have fled their homes, becoming internally displaced or seeking refuge in neighboring countries such as Syria and Jordan. On the website, Iraqi Refugees Stories, videojournalist Jennifer Utz is attempting to collect the stories of as many refugees as she can in the form of video interviews. Here are just a few samples:

Rawnaq's Story                                              Basem's Story

Ahmad's Story                                              Layla's Story

Warning: Some of these stories are of a graphic nature, viewer discretion is advised.

About Iraqi Refugee Stories: The idea behind Iraqi Refugee Stories emerged from an interest in creating an intimate oral history of the refugees and displaced from Iraq, who currently number more than 5 million.
