About EFG Holding
EFG Holding, long known as EFG Hermes, is one of the best-known investment banks in the Middle East and North Africa. Its investment-banking arm covers brokerage, research, advisory and asset management across the region.
Over the past decade the group has built a non-bank financial services platform in Egypt, including consumer finance through valU and microfinance through Tanmeyah, and it acquired a controlling stake in aiBANK, adding a commercial bank to the group.
The stock tends to move with market activity: higher trading volumes, IPOs and deal-making support brokerage and advisory income, while the lending businesses are sensitive to interest rates and credit quality.
